Beachcombers finding them along Arctic shores, or whose forefathers found one in the Pacific prior to 1900, could make history by reporting one of Faye’s floats. Photo Credit Beachcombers' Alert Newsletter to read more on floats http://beachcombersalert.org/JapaneseGlassBalls.html I have looked for years for glass floats.  I have yet to find one.  1999 Dale Chuily was to go to one of the last glass float factories in Japan.  He had designed huge red floats were said to be released in Japan and would start arriving on our shores around the milennimum.  After several trips to Tofino beaches, I did my homework, and spending many hours poking a driftwood stick into all the piles of seaweed, hoping to hear that clink,  I emailed them to see how many had been found.  I am thinking retirement.  Alas, they abandoned the idea.  Still had a great time looking.  Spending hours walking in solitude on a beach is a really good thing.
